2011 University Of Phoenix AMVETS Scholarship Recipients Announced

Fifty Full-Tuition Scholarships Awarded to Service Members, Veterans and their Families in honor of Veterans Day

In honor of Veterans Day, University of Phoenix and AMVETS awarded $350,000 through 50 $7,000 scholarships nationwide to active duty service members, veterans and eligible family members to pursue a degree through University of Phoenix.

“University of Phoenix recognizes the critical need for America’s active duty service members, veterans and their families to increase their individual educational and professional strengths to further contribute to the 21st century workforce both in the military and beyond,” said Garland Williams, University of Phoenix Military Division Associate Regional Vice President. “The University of Phoenix AMVETS Scholarships provide educational opportunities to increase professional skills through education and further develop our country’s future leaders.”

AMVETS partnered with University of Phoenix in 2007, offering 25 scholarships to eligible veterans and family members. Since then, University of Phoenix doubled its commitment in an effort to help more service members, veterans and eligible family members earn a college degree. Recipients of the 2011 University of Phoenix AMVETS Scholarships can attend class either on-campus or online, allowing military students the flexibility and accessibility to complete their education anywhere in the world.

University of Phoenix is proud of the 50,000 active duty service members, veterans and spouses who have graduated from University of Phoenix and those who are currently earning their advanced degrees while balancing frequent moves, rigorous training schedules and deployments.
