University of Phoenix and The Manufacturing Institute have formed a partnership with the goal of preparing highly skilled workers prepared to succeed in the 21st-century workforce.

Strengthening U.S. Manufacturing through Education

The Manufacturing Institute and University of Phoenix are working together to help U.S. manufacturers develop a sustainable manufacturing workforce. University of Phoenix’s primary role in this partnership is to offer highly accessible educational pathways for manufacturing working learners.  UOPX does this with non-credit and degree programs aligned to competencies defined by the industry as essential for successful manufacturing careers.

The alignment of University of Phoenix programs to industry specified competencies helps employers invest tuition assistance funds in educational programs directly relevant to their businesses. In addition, once enrolled, your employees can receive credit for prior educational work and achievement and may qualify for tuition reduction agreements via educational partnerships with University of Phoenix.

How University of Phoenix Supports Manufacturing

  • Manufacturing Degree Program

The Manufacturing Institute and University of Phoenix have collaborated to create a unique degree program that is aligned with the competencies that leading U.S. manufacturers require to prosper in the global economy. The Bachelor of Science in Management with a concentration in Manufacturing Sector provides students with skills that are vital to growth and innovation, which in turn will help U.S. manufacturing companies lead the renewal and future expansion of U.S. manufacturing.

  • Business Value

By calibrating its degree programs to manufacturing environments, University of Phoenix can help employers link their tuition assistance programs directly to education programs relevant to their industry. This allows manufacturing working learners to enjoy the benefits of advancing their education through degree programs that are endorsed by the industry.

  • Credit for Prior Learning

University of Phoenix’s Prior Learning Assessment may award credits to students for competencies acquired from corporate training, industry certifications and other academic experiences. These credits can shorten the time to degree completion and help working learners focus on their specific education priorities. University of Phoenix has already created a Credit Recommendation Guide for the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM)-Endorsed Manufacturing Skills Certification System. The NAM-Endorsed Manufacturing Skills Certification System is a nationally portable, industry-recognized credentials system that validates the technical and non-technical skills and competencies needed to be productive and successful in entry-level positions in any manufacturing environment.

  • University of Phoenix Manufacturing Institute Scholarship Program

The University of Phoenix® Manufacturing Institute Scholarship program provides full-tuition scholarships to 20 qualified individuals interested in manufacturing in the United States. Recipients may choose to attend University of Phoenix at one of more than 200 campus locations or online.
