Sue Heacock

Master of Business Administration, 2007

Often referred to as “angels in scrubs,” is there any other profession that is recognized for their compassion and selfless service more than nurses?

Sue Heacock, RN and University of Phoenix MBA graduate, has proven that the perception is true by writing a moving, sometimes humorous book, “Inspiring the Inspirational: Words of Hope from Nurses to Nurses.” Written for nurses and non-nurses alike, this book is a literary journey about hope and triumph in a profession in which life and death are often at stake.

“I chose the topic because there is a big nursing shortage, and like I said in my title, ‘Inspiring the Inspirational’ I hope to inspire people to go into the nursing profession.” It was Heacock’s lifelong dream to write a book.

Sue has a diverse background. She worked as a Military Police Officer in the U.S. Army and in human resources and equal employment opportunity before becoming a nurse. She is currently a Certified Occupational Health Nurse Specialist residing in Florida with her daughter. Her son is a Marine on active duty.
