Lynda Woodard

Master of Business Administration, 2006

If you’re an alumni who has considered Paying It ForwardSM, Lynda Woodard would tell you to do it. Lynda’s life was enriched by the Master of Business Administration degree she earned from University of Phoenix and she wanted her sister, Lenae Fritsch, to receive the same benefit.

Lynda enrolled in University of Phoenix after a 25-year break from school. After receiving her master’s degree, Lynda applied for a promotion within her company and received the position.

“When I saw the opportunity to nominate someone for the Paying it Forward® scholarship, I asked myself … Who could benefit from this the most? Who would be sure to accomplish the goal? Who needed the ‘little push’ to get going on [her] dreams? My sister Lenae [Fritsch] came to mind immediately.”

Lenae’s college plans were put on hold to raise her four children on her own. Today, three of her four children are also enrolled in college because of their mother’s devotion to education.

Lynda says, “Both Lenae and I are very grateful to University of Phoenix for offering this scholarship.” Thanks to the scholarship program, Lenae was able to achieve her dream of becoming a teacher and a coach.
