The degrees offered through the School of Advanced Studies are:
- Doctor of Business Administration (DBA)
- Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership (EdD)
- Doctor of Health Administration (DHA)
- Doctor of Management in Organizational Leadership (DM)
- Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education Administration (PhD/HEA)
- Doctor of Philosophy in Industrial/Organizational Psychology (PhD/IO)
A specialization places a specific emphasis of study within a larger
degree program. The School of Advanced Studies offers three
specializations within two degree programs:
- Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership with a Specialization in Curriculum and Instruction (EdD/CI)
- Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership with a Specialization in Educational Technology (EdD/ET)
- Doctor of Management in Organizational Leadership with a Specialization in Information Systems and Technology (DM/IST)
University of Phoenix doctoral programs are primarily online, with two
or three face-to-face residency experiences depending on your program
of study. Residencies are available in select states and foreign
countries. This means you can attend class from anywhere in the world.

All of the School of Advanced Studies doctoral programs are online
programs. While there is the face-to-face residency component, the
courses are conducted primarily online. However, as a University of
Phoenix learner, you have access to the facilities and support
opportunities available at our nearly 200 locations.

One of the most convenient aspects of the University of Phoenix online
learning model is that you choose the days and times to participate in
class each week, so long as you meet the minimum participation
requirements by posting substantive comments to the classroom on three
days of seven days each week.

Our Online Learning System (OLS) system is very intuitive and as easy
to use as email. Should you have any questions or experience any
difficulties, however, we do offer 24/7 technical support via the
Internet and over the phone except for major holidays.

Moving is no problem when you’re a learner at the School of Advanced
Studies. You can continue your degree program online throughout your

and can still attend the face-to-face residencies.

degrees. Additionally, most hold high-level positions within the fields
they teach. When they are not teaching class, our instructors are
