Verizon's Thinkfinity

Developed by Verizon, Thinkfinity provides interactive games and tools for kids and lesson resources and webinars for teachers. At www.thinkfinity.org/home, you can search by subject, grade level, keyword and state standard for different resources. Some of the partners Verizon works with are ARTSEDGE, Science NetLinks, Smithsonian's History Explorer and ReadWriteThink.

The NASA website

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration site has great educational materials for children from kindergarten through grade 12 and beyond at www.nasa.gov/audience/foreducators/index.html.

Public Broadcasting System website for teachers

With videos, online professional development and TV and Web content, the Public Broadcasting System is a great resource for teachers. PBS also gives innovation awards to teachers and helps them connect via online discussions. See what it offers at www.pbs.org/teachers.

Your school library

Knowing what books, videos, DVDs and other materials are in your school library is key to utilizing them. Your librarian can also help with literature for your students and research resources.

The Library of Congress

The Library of Congress provides classroom materials, professional development, photos, primary resources and more at its website at www.loc.gov/teachers/. It also has class starters you can use like "Today in History" and "Everyday Mysteries." If a student stumps you with a question, the Library of Congress even has an "Ask a Librarian" resource.

Internet Archive

The Internet Archive site (www.archive.org/projects/) has more than 1 million digital texts of books, NASA images, courses, video lectures and supplemental materials from universities in the United States and China — all complimentary.

Smithsonian Education website
