In order to practice as a Counselor in any state, the student must be licensed as an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor), MFT (Marriage and Family Therapist), or other comparable state license designation. License requirements may vary. It is the student’s responsibility to ascertain and meet licensure requirements in any state in which the student desires to practice.
These programs do not prepare a graduate to practice as a psychologist.

Campus report for Arizona
The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) awards programmatic accreditation to the Master of Science in Counseling program at the Phoenix Main and Southern Arizona campuses of University of Phoenix for meeting specific professional and educational standards.
While widely available, not all programs are available in all locations or in both online and on-campus formats. Certificate programs are widely available in an online format but generally not available at our campus locations. Please check with a University Enrollment Representative.
