Human Services Degree Programs

In our Human Services programs, you will gain the skills needed for effective delivery of professional client services or management of human services organizations. Your course curriculum is designed to provide the knowledge and skills needed to develop as a professional. And you will learn from faculty with years of industry experience, so they can tell you how the material they teach relates to work in the field.

Put Human Services Theory into Practice

In the College of Social Sciences you’ll find programs designed by academic professionals so they effectively focus on putting theories into practice.

The Bachelor of Science in Human Services program teaches you the strategies and techniques of intervention and good management practices for intervention. The Bachelor of Science in Human Services/Management program is designed to help you develop skills in planning, organizing, leading, assessing and evaluating.

As part of the University of Phoenix educational approach, your learning experience will also focus on problem-solving, active participation and teamwork. Our degree programs can provide the knowledge often sought in today’s human services field. You’ll learn from faculty with experience in human services. They can tell you how material you learn in class is used in the industry.

Bachelor of Science in Human Services

The Bachelor of Science in Human Services degree program gives you knowledge and basic skills to work in the human services industry. This is an integrated program combining academic instruction in the foundations of human services such as counseling, social work and psychology with applied skills for a career in human services.

This program is designed to be an applied degree. It teaches you strategies and techniques of intervention and good management practices for intervention at individual, family, group, organization and community levels. You will prepare to provide services in a variety of community settings.

The program takes an interdisciplinary approach to the development of your knowledge and skills and provides instruction in four major areas: theoretical foundations, diversity and population needs, research and program evaluation, and intervention methods and skills.

Bachelor of Science in Human Services/Management

The Bachelor of Science in Human Services/Management program prepares you by providing the knowledge and basic skills to work in the human services industry. The degree is an integrated program combining academic instruction in the foundations of human services, such as counseling, social work and psychology with the management skills of planning, organizing, leading, assessing and evaluating.
