Meet the dean
College of Information Systems & Technology
Welcome to the University of Phoenix College of Information Systems and Technology.
My name is Dennis Bonilla, Executive Dean of the College of Information Systems and Technology. I’ve dedicated my career to learning, education, training and development, and like you, I am passionate about technology and the possibilities it creates for our communities, businesses and personal lives.
As the pace of technology innovation continues to accelerate, the world needs skilled IT professionals who can anticipate change and prosper in it. I love being part of the influence on this change — thinking outside the box, thinking of the possibilities. I like to be a change agent. I like to be a little bit of a maverick. Information technology touches every human being on the planet in one way or another. We in IT are impacting and transforming everyone's life — hopefully for the better.
At the College of Information Systems and Technology, we empower individuals to learn about technologies that will change the world. In short, we power the people who power IT. It’s my vision to make the college the most agile, relevant and experiential IT education solution anywhere. To achieve this goal, we offer:
- Industry-aligned certificates: Our certificates align with one or more of over 40 technology certifications from companies like Microsoft,® Cisco ® and Oracle ®, so our students can be confident that they’re learning skills that are in-demand today.
- Expert faculty: We draw from the expertise of over 1,000 working IT professionals from across the U.S. to teach our courses. Our faculty are IT directors, VPs, CIOs and CEOs who practice what they teach, so our students know that their lessons are industry relevant.
- Interactive and immersive content: We believe that learning technology should be experiential, which is why our courses integrate simulations and interactive exercises to help our students not only learn about IT, but learn to apply it to real-world business problems.
Whether you’re an experienced IT pro or tech newbie, you’ll find an educational option in our certificates, associate degree, bachelor’s degree or master’s degree that is built for you around today’s IT demands.
It’s an exciting time in technology and at University of Phoenix. I sincerely hope that you’ll choose us to help you reach your goals.
