Through our Community College Center of Excellence, University of Phoenix is committed to working with community colleges across the nation to positively affect college completion rates and to develop a skilled workforce that can meet 21st-century needs.
University of Phoenix helps community college students build upon the higher education foundation they’ve gained at community colleges. Through a community college education partnership, we can guide associate-degreed students on their path to earning a bachelor’s degree and connect them with an education that blends academic knowledge and the skills needed for the real world.
Continuing the important work of community colleges
The primary goal of the Community College Center of Excellence is to form collaborative relationships with community colleges that establish clear transfer pathways for community college students. The Center brings together community college leaders, local business partners, and diversity organizations with University of Phoenix advisors and faculty to help students realize their educational goals and achieve professional success.
The Community College Center of Excellence aims to:
Form triad alliances. In order for higher education to understand what industries need from today’s employees, employers must be actively engaged. University of Phoenix builds three-way relationships with community colleges and national and local employers to help organizations meet the demand for highly skilled employees while colleges achieve their goal of developing successful students.
Streamline transfer pathways. Through strategic program alignment and online access to course sequences we provide streamlined transfer pathways and opportunities to maximize course transfer and applicability.
Collaborate on workforce CLEAR pathway events. Our Community/ Learning/ Engagement/ Access/ Readiness (CLEAR) events are a career fair, skills assessment workshop and readiness seminar all in one. Hosted at community colleges, these events encourage faculty and employers to engage directly with students to learn about their career goals, discuss industry trends and best practices, and inform them of their transfer options.
