Continuing Education Unit Coursework

Earn Continuing Education Units conveniently and efficiently.

Students can earn continuing education units (CEUs) by completing individual courses in a variety of academic and professional areas.

Each course awards continuing education units based upon the standard of one CEU equals 10 contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education experience under responsible, qualified direction and instruction (unless indicated otherwise). A record of this coursework will then be available through a University of Phoenix transcript.

Each course consists of five contact hours. On-campus courses are delivered as one session lasting five hours. With online courses, material and work are delivered and completed over the course of one week. All courses are available online. For information on courses available at a nearby campus, please contact an enrollment representative.

Please note: Continuing Education Units (CEUs) cannot be converted into academic credit. It is the student's responsibility to confirm whether or not CEUs earned at University of Phoenix will be accepted by employers and/or applicable licensing agencies. While widely available, not all Continuing Education Unit coursework is available in all states or in both online and on-campus formats. Please check with a University Enrollment Representative.
