This one-credit course is a comprehensive guide that includes step-by-step approaches to devising a strategy that will lead to the development of a winning proposal. The course focuses on the process of proposal "development" rather than proposal "writing." The format and content of the course are both technical and conceptual in nature.
This undergraduate-level course is 2 weeks. To enroll, speak with an Enrollment Advisor.
  • Problem Solving and Opportunity Proposals

    • Compare the four standard types of proposals: Research, Planning, Implementation, and Estimate Proposal.
    • Understand and apply the Request for Proposal (RFP) Process.
    • Define the purpose and potential problem(s) for writing a proposal.
  • Strategies of Proposal Development

    • Examine the five stages of writing a proposal.
    • Illustrate the four Areas of a Proposal: Current situation, Plan, Qualifications, Costs and Benefits.
  • Budgeting and Putting a Proposal Together

    • Detail the different elements in budget proposals.
    • Compare and Contrast four principles of design used in effective page layouts.
    • Discuss the importance of revising the proposal and/or rethinking the problem or opportunity.
