Course Description

This course focuses on the development of strategies for linking national and state standards to classroom curriculum. This course will explore the historical foundations of the standards movement as well as current research on standards as a basis for understanding standards-based instruction.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of standards as a vehicle for educational reform.

  • Analyze early criticism and proponents of the modern standards movement.
