Teacher Leadership In A Global Society –

Students in this course have the opportunity to critically analyze the field of education from a global perspective. Students investigate the implications of the globalization of knowledge on micro and macro educational systems. Multicultural implications, diversity, and the use of technology as a vehicle of pedagogy are explored. Building collaborative organizational communities and empowering teacher leaders to think strategically about school change are emphasized.

- Examine the role that teacher leaders play in preparing global students.
- Identify skills, knowledge, and dispositions that students will need to function in a global society.
- Explore assessment and accountability perspectives in relation to the new skills and knowledge needed for a global society.
- Investigate issues and challenges in creating more global students.

- Analyze the effects of technology on the role of education.

- Examine global service learning.
- Identify roles of the teacher leader in global service learning.
