This course provides teacher candidates with an in-depth review and analysis of Task 4 from the edTPA (Teacher Performance Assessment). Participants focus on the reintroduction of Rubrics 16 through 18 of the Assessing Students' Mathematics Learning task. Finally, learners prepare an action plan for the successful completion and resubmission of the edTPA Task 4 assessment. (For Elementary Student Teachers Only)

    Evaluation of Mathematics Assessment

    • Evaluate assessments and summarize whole class learning in a narrative or graph.
    • Identify expectations under Task 4: Assessing Students’ Mathematics Learning of the edTPA Elementary Handbook.
    • Analyze a mathematics lesson segment for revision.

    Revision of Mathematics Assessment

    • Analyze assessment data for the entire class and target students.
    • Describe reengagement strategies and link back to data analysis.
    • Revise commentaries with cited theory or peer reviewed research from identified instructional theories.
