Health care managers must possess the essential skills necessary to navigate national, state, and local health care laws and regulations. In addition, health care managers must help their organizations reduce legal and ethical risks. This course provides information about prevalent health care laws such as HIPAA, Medicare Fraud and Abuse, and Stark Regulations, as well as ethical codes of conduct. Students will learn about the difference between health legislation and regulations, as well as ways to maintain compliance. This course provides 0.4 continuing education units in one, 4-hour workshops.
