This course provides students with a foundational set of basic health care vocabulary that relates to a variety of health care work settings. Students will review terms and concepts related to the structure and professions within the health care delivery systems. In addition, students will also explore terminology related to body systems and common diseases and treatments associated with these systems.

This undergraduate-level course is 5 weeks. To enroll, speak with an Enrollment Advisor.
  • Resources to Health Care

    • Identify valid resources available for consumers and professionals.

  • The Language of the Health Care Delivery

    • Identify the function of major health care delivery structures within the industry.
    • Describe common health care support services.
  • People and Professions in the Health Care Community

    • Identify various professions and roles in the health care industry.
    • Identify various health care employers and industries in your local communities.
  • Body Systems - Part I

    • Identify the major body systems.
    • Explain the functions of each body system.
    • Identify the various organs within each body system.
  • Body Systems - Part II

    • Identify the major body systems.
    • Explain the functions of each body system.
    • Identify the various organs within each body system.
