Through formal study and on-site experience, this course allows the student to study the cultural and social development of Mexico from the pre-Columbian to the present time. This course will also allow the student the opportunity to study the art of Mexico, including pre-historic "writings," sculpture, murals, and architecture.
Explain the significance of the three major Mexican muralists on the evolution of Mexican culture.
Describe the significance of a place in Mexico of art or culture.
Explore the interrelationship between the art and events of a specific time period in Mexican history.
Explore Mexican culture, past and present.
Demonstrated an understanding of the cultural climate of a specific time period in Mexican history.
Spanish Language
Demonstrate Spanish language acquisition by studying in the intensive language classes for 6 hours each day for two weeks.
