This course applies the tools available to University of Phoenix graduate students and the competencies of successful individuals who exercise influence within an organization but have no direct authority to make changes or implement programs. Students learn their own perceptions and values to communicate more effectively with others. Other topics include Master of Management program goals, argument construction, decision making, collaboration, and academic research.

  • The Field of Consulting

    • Identify the roles and responsibilities of a consultant.

    • Develop strategies for effective client and consultant relationships.

    • Identify appropriate supporting research.

  • Functional Areas of Business

    • Describe the functional areas of business.
    • Describe how a problem affects multiple functional areas of business.
  • Indentifying the Problem: Discovery and Engagement

    • Explain the discovery phase.

    • Identify methods used for gathering data.

    • Explain client engagement.

    • Identify tools that may be used for client engagement.

  • Client Feedback and Resistance

    • Develop a client feedback plan.
    • Identify tools that may be used to provide client feedback.
  • Implementation

    • Identify components of an implementation plan.
    • Compare engagement and installation.
    • Identify tools that may be used for implementation.
  • Ethics in Consulting

    • Describe ethical considerations of authentic consulting.
