Statistics play an important role in business analytics by providing a set of standardized methods and equations that can be applied to data for analysis, interpretation of results, explanation of variations, and the prediction of future behavior. In this course, students will learn basic statistical terminology and how statistics relate to data analysis. Students also will learn how software packages can aid in statistical calculations to help summarize and analyze data, and how the derived statistical calculations can be used to draw conclusions about the data set. This course provides 0.4 continuing education units over one 4-hour workshop.
