This course prepares students to integrate technology in marketing functions. Students design the organization and content of a Web site to accomplish one or more marketing objectives. Topics include basics of the World Wide Web, bandwidth, servers and storage, e-Marketing, e-Commerce, and targeting customers.

  • Marketing and General e-Business Concepts

    • Identify the unique challenges managers face in a networked economy.
    • Describe how managers use their knowledge of the four infrastructures.
    • Explain how Internet regulations affect e-commerce.
  • Internet Technology and Business Models

    • Explain how the Internet can be an advantage in marketing.
    • Identify the components of the online business model.
    • Compare the challenges and opportunities of Internet technologies for both online and brick-and-mortar companies.
  • e-Marketing

    • Use the seven-step process to assess e-market opportunity.
    • Explain the role of branding in e-business.
    • Compare traditional and modern media communication approaches.
  • Targeting Customers

    • Develop targeted marketing communications.
    • Use the 7Cs of customer interface.
  • e-Commerce

    • Define the four components of the e-business model.
    • Explain the seven factors for a successful e-commerce implementation.
    • Develop an approach to measure and evaluate e-commerce business performance.
  • e-Marketing and Mock Website Design

    • Design a website strategy.
    • Define the user-experience.
    • Create a mock website.
