This course develops the basic skills of critically analyzing research findings. Research methods are introduced with emphasis placed upon analyzing key elements of research reports.

    • Differentiate between the process of conducting a research study and using findings of research studies.
    • Describe the historical evolution of nursing research.
  • Barriers to Evidence-Based Practice

    • Develop strategies for evidence-based nursing practice.
    • Describe the characteristics of work settings cultures that facilitate or hinder research utilization.
  • Research Utilization in Nursing and Health Care

    • Describe selected nursing and health care research utilization projects and their outcomes.
