Critical Synthesis Application –

This capstone course provides opportunities for students in their final course of study to analyze and synthesize content and experience from all nursing courses. This course requires the student to prepare, practice, and test for the national examination for registered nurses. Based on prior assessment testing, an individualized national examination preparation plan will be developed in collaboration with faculty. Weekly topics and objectives provide a forum for discussion and review.
This undergraduate-level course is 5 weeks. To enroll, speak with an Enrollment Advisor.
  • NCLEX-RN Testing and Preparation Plan

    • Identify areas of additional study needed based on most recent predictor test results
    • Use the Nursing Process to develop a study plan based on predictor test results
  • Safe and Effective Care Environment

    • Analyze the concepts of Safe and Effective Care Environment as identified by the National Council State Boards of Nursing, Client Needs category
    • Summarize the role of the RN as it pertains to Safe and Effective Care Environment
    • Identify appropriate nursing interventions that are consistent with the Client Needs category, Safe and Effective Care Environment and the Integrated Processes that are fundamental to the practice of nursing
  • Psychosocial Integrity

    • Analyze the concepts of Psychosocial Integrity as identified by the National Council State Boards of Nursing, Client Needs category
    • Summarize the role of the RN as it pertains to Psychosocial Integrity
    • Identify appropriate nursing interventions that are consistent with the Client Needs category, Psychosocial Integrity and Integrated Processes that are fundamental to the practice of nursing
  • Physiological Integrity

    • Analyze the concepts of Physiological Integrity as identified by the National Council State Boards of Nursing, Client Needs category
    • Summarize the role of the RN as it pertains to Physiological Integrity
    • Identify appropriate nursing interventions that are consistent with the Client Needs category Physiological Integrity, and Integrated Processes that are fundamental to the practice of nursing
  • Health Promotion and Maintenance

    • Analyze the concepts of Health Promotion and Maintenance as identified by the National Council State Boards of Nursing, Client Needs category
    • Identify appropriate nursing interventions that are consistent with the Client Needs category Health Promotion and Maintenance, and Integrated Processes that are fundamental to the practice of nursing
    • Demonstrate application of testing strategies related to improving physiologic conditions.
