This course integrates the five processes that define project management. Students will design a project management plan to accomplish an organizational objective. Other topics include project initiation, budgeting, communications, execution, team management, control, and closure.
This graduate-level course is 6 weeks. This course may be available to take individually or as part of a degree or certificate program. To enroll, speak with an enrollment advisor.
  • Managing Project Risk

    • Assess project risk.
    • Explain the role of change control management.
  • Project Closure

    • Analyze the project closure process.
    • Compare international and domestic project management.  
  • Project Leadership, Execution and Monitoring Project Progress

    • Explain the importance of Project Sponsorship and Project Leadership.
    • Describe project team assembly.
    • Explain how to manage the execution of projects.
    • Explain project progress and performance evaluation.
  • Project Management Overview

    • Describe Project, Program and Project Portfolio.
    • Compare components of a project with the project life cycle.
    • Explain the impact of organizational structure and culture on project management.
  • Project Plan Development

    • Determine project scope and objectives.
    • Analyze Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
    • Evaluate project stakeholders and their information needs.
  • Project Time and Costs

    • Compare time and cost estimation methods.
    • Estimate project resources.
    • Determine project budget.
