This course continues the subject in PRG/420, Java Programming I. Topics include designing complex applications and the use of data files.
This undergraduate-level course is 5 weeks. To enroll, speak with an Enrollment Advisor.
  • User Interfaces

    • Design, implement, test, and debug a Java® program that incorporates a graphical user interface (GUI) and processes events.
    • Apply layout managers.
  • GUI Components

    • Design, implement, test, and debug a GUI program that includes lists, combo boxes, and menus.
  • Files

    • Design, implement, test, and debug a GUI program that includes exception handling.
    • Design, implement, test, and debug a GUI program that includes reading and writing data files.
  • Applets and Graphics

    • Design, implement, test, and debug a Java® applet.
    • Use graphics in a Java® program.
  • Database Connectivity and Mobile Computing

    • Design, implement, test, and debug a Java® program that connects to a database.
    • Discuss considerations in writing programs for mobile devices with the Java® language.
