In this course, participants review the math concepts and topics found on the Praxis II® Mathematics Content Knowledge exam. Participants practice working timed math problems by hand, quickly and correctly. Additionally, opportunities to determine personal strategies for successful test-taking are provided. Participants receive information on testing strategies, vocabulary, formulas, and other subject-specific information required in the following domains:

  • Domain I: Algebra and Number Theory
  • Domain II: Measurement, Geometry, and Trigonometry
  • Domain III: Functions and Calculus
  • Domain IV: Data Analysis and Statistics, and Probability
  • Domain V: Matrix Algebra and Discrete Mathematics
Opportunities to take practice tests, to review test questions by analyzing both correct and incorrect answers, and to use the information gathered from analysis and practice assessments help students prepare for the exam.

    Test-Taking Strategies

    • Identify effective test-taking strategies.
    • Analyze stress factors and methods of overcoming stress associated with testing.

    Praxis II® Mathematics Content Knowledge Exam Domains I & II

    • Determine personal strengths and weaknesses in Domain I: Algebra and Number Theory based on sample test results.
    • Determine personal strengths and weaknesses in Domain II: Measurement, Geometry, and Trigonometry based on sample test results.
    • Identify skills, concepts, and vocabulary associated with Domains I & II.

    Praxis II® Mathematics Content Knowledge Exam Domains III – V

    • Determine personal strengths and weaknesses in Domain IV: Data Analysis and Statistics, and Probability based on sample test results.
    • Determine personal strengths and weaknesses in Domain V: Matrix Algebra and Discrete Mathematics based on sample test results.
    • Identify skills, concepts, and vocabulary associated with Domains III – V.
    • Create an effective study plan based on analysis of sample test results.
    • Determine personal strengths and weaknesses in Domain III: Functions and Calculus based on sample test results.
