Course Description

How to apply methods of research and statistics to your proposal are identified. Writing the prospectus, collecting and analyzing data, as well as posing research questions are the focus of this course.

Course Competencies

  • Describe quantitative and qualitative data collection approaches and their application to different types of research problems.
  • Apply quantitative data collection approaches to different research problems.
  • Apply qualitative data collection approaches to different research problems.
  • Explain quantitative data analysis approaches and their application to different quantitative research designs.
  • Explain qualitative data analysis approaches and their application to different qualitative research designs.
  • Differentiate between descriptive and inferential statistics and parametric and nonparametric statistics.
  • Apply quantitative data analysis procedures to quantitative data.
  • Apply qualitative data analysis procedures to qualitative data.
  • Explain different types of quantitative and qualitative validity and their potential impact on interpreting and generalizing research results.
  • Formulate a research report appropriate to the target audience.
