Course Description The purpose of this course is to guide students in the integration of information learned in previous courses (i.e., residency, research courses, testing and measurement) that relates to measurement and dissertation issues and apply the information to the initial working draft of the dissertation proposal (developed from the concept paper). The final outcome of this course is an initial outline of the dissertation proposal and draft of the literature review.

Course Competencies

  • Demonstrate an understanding of how to plan and write a dissertation.
  • Apply best practices to planning a dissertation proposal.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of how to assemble a dissertation committee.
  • Synthesize appropriately identified and evaluated dissertation topic literature.
  • Design a plan to publish an academic work.
