This course explores how organizations must be prepared to defend against threats in cyberspace. Learners will study the fundamentals of cyber risks and threats and will explore topics such as facility security, privacy and data security. There will be a focus on the fundamentals of viruses, malware, and spyware concerns, scams and frauds such as pretexting, email and mobile device security. Students will also explore Wi-Fi security, network security, web site security, incident response, and basic policy development. The course overall will help students develop cyber security management skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and cyber security information utilization. The new skills and knowledge gained in this course will help ensure the privacy, reliability, and integrity of information systems.
