This is the capstone course for the Security Management undergraduate program. The course provides students with the opportunity to integrate and apply specific program knowledge and learning in a comprehensive manner with regard to the areas of risk and threat assessment, physical, personal, and information system(s) security, emergency and critical incident response, and administration and management. Students will evaluate and demonstrate their professional growth with the development of an effective security plan.

    Budgeting and Finance

    • Detail finance practices to create a budget for a security department.

    Incident Command System and Response

    • Evaluate how the Incident Command System operates and collaborates with all levels of government and the private sector.

    Organizational Management

    • Apply the concepts of organizational behavior and management in designing an organizational security plan.

    Security Plan Integration

    • Create a comprehensive security plan.

    Risk and Threat Assessment

    • Assess the strengths, weaknesses, threats and vulnerabilities of security systems.
