This course covers topics such as designing dynamic web pages and an introduction to Java and Java applets. Emphasis is placed upon the appropriate use of web programming tools.

  • Comparing and Contrasting Java™ and JavaScript® Languages and Java™ Applets

    • Explain the differences between Java™ and JavaScript® languages.

    • Create a simple applet.  
  • Web Security

    • Identify techniques to secure a website.
    • Managing cookies through JavaScript® language to help secure a website.
  • Incorporating CSS Into JavaScript® and HTML Languages

    • Critique a peer design.
    • Create a dynamic website using XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript ® languages.
    • Design a small website.

  • Applying JavaScript® Language to HTML

    • Use the Document Object Model (DOM) structure to deploy JavaScript® functions.
    • Apply the JavaScript® language to manipulate user interaction and page lifecycle.
  • HTML 5 and CSS Overview

    • Explain HTML 5 and HTML 4.

    • Use HTML 5 and CSS to create a login page of a web application.
