Ruby Rouse

Ruby Rouse

School of Advanced Studies

Ruby A. Rouse is a faculty member at University of Phoenix’s School of Advanced Studies where she teaches doctoral-level courses. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Texas A&M University, a Master of Arts in Speech in 1984 from the University of Houston and in 1993 she earned a doctoral degree in Marketing Communication from the University of Connecticut.

Having held a variety of leadership positions in business and higher education, Ruby has more than 17 years experience working as a director of marketing for various organizations, including a million dollar dental practice in South Texas as well as a private investment firm in San Antonio. Her current research focuses on the Supervisor Leadership and Communication Inventory (SLCI), a diagnostic tool she developed to measure the influence of supervisor leadership and communication on employee behavior. Her publications specialize in marketing, research, communication, and healthcare, including articles in the Journal of Behavioral Medicine, Journal of Leadership Studies, Health Marketing Quarterly, Health Communication, and Journal of Professional Services Marketing.

Time is a limited and valuable resource.  I like to spend some of my time helping people who are using their time to improve their understanding and skills.

Harvey Slentz

University of Phoenix School of Business

Harvey Slentz was awarded his Bachelor of Science degree from Arkansas State University in 1970, his Masters in Business and Economics from the University of Central Missouri in 1971, and his Juris Doctorate in Law from the University of Louisville in 1981. He teaches business and law courses for University of Phoenix.

Harvey is a Legal Bar Member in Florida, Kentucky and Indiana. He is also an industrial engineer and attorney specializing in dispute resolution involving mediation and arbitration.  Harvey’s experience includes working as a professional, manager and executive in a $70-billion enterprise, where he led a $250-million subsidiary and several thousand employees. He is a principal in a commercial partnership that searches for sunken treasure, and lives on Amelia Island in Florida.
