Office showdown: Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and Google Plus

In June 2011, choosing a social-networking platform to connect and communicate with others got a bit more complicated. The group of usual suspects of Twitter®, LinkedIn® and Facebook® has expanded to now include Google Plus®.

While you may be thinking you have no need for another social network, you may want to consider how one of these networks could improve your workplace communication. The infographic below can help you decide which social network(s) you might want to keep using personally or to improve your online brand, and which one(s) you might use to better communicate and share information with your team or company.

Once you decide which social network works best for communication at your company, be ready to train and explain the benefits to your team. The best way to start leading this transition is to first immerse yourself in the social network and test it out throughout the course of your workday. While this may take some time, you could find a no-cost tool among these options that solves many workplace communication and information-sharing issues.
