MASTER'S DEGREES


 

Master of Science in Counseling/Clinical Mental Health Counseling:

With this master’s degree program, you’ll develop a strong foundation in clinical mental health practices – with a curriculum that provides a solid foundation in the core areas of counselor training. You’ll learn how to effectively assess mental health disorders, develop treatment plans, and design evidence-based treatment. You’ll demonstrate the professional knowledge necessary to help clients overcome life challenges. This program is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs (CACREP) at ground locations in Arizona and Utah, and prepares students to sit for the National Counselor Exam (NCE).

 

 


 

Master of Science in Counseling/Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy:

Are you interested in helping people to solve complex issues related to couple and family relationships? By earning the MFCT degree, you’ll be able to offer the clinical skills necessary to help couples, families, parents and children overcome a variety of challenges. Develop the knowledge and skills necessary to provide effective therapeutic interventions within a variety of family systems and relationship dynamics. Help couples, families, and children to improve their functioning as a family unit.

Available on campus in select locations in California.

The Master of Science in Counseling/ Marriage, Family and Child Therapy degree program meets the California MFT educational requirements for registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as an MFT intern. Upon successful completion of all educational requirements and required postgraduate supervised clinical hours, graduates are eligible to sit for the MFT licensure exams in California. 

 

 


 

Master of Science in Counseling/School Counseling:

Establish a foundation to help students’ personal, educational, and career growth as a school counselor. You’ll gain an understanding of counseling theories and how to apply them in a school setting. You’ll gain field experience through a supervised practicum and internship, providing you with skills in career planning, program development, implementation and evaluation. Help students work through challenges – and make a difference from kindergarten through high school. This program is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) at the ground location in Utah.
