Online Education

Programs are offered through a variety of delivery modes to meet the needs of our mobile constituency. The same rigorous curriculum and learning outcomes assessments are applied across all modalities.

Local Campus

Students meet face-to-face each week for interactive, seminar-style instruction. Students also meet weekly to work in smaller Learning Teams outside of class meetings.

Online

Students interact online for asynchronous, seminar-style instruction at times and places that work best for them. Internet access is used in lieu of face-to-face meetings.

FlexNet®

A combination of local campus and online modalities, FlexNet® is structured for students who require scheduling flexibility, but who also prefer some face-to-face class meetings.

About the Online Campus

The University of Phoenix Online Campus is an outcome of the University's recognition of the technological transformation of the workplace and the needs of the working adult student. Rather than gathering in a traditional classroom, students and instructors interact electronically and asynchronously, resulting in increased access for students by allowing them to control the time and place of their participation.

University of Phoenix Online education is interactive and participative. Students are active members of a Learning Group of between eight and 14 working adults, and work in smaller Learning Teams for special projects. Students complete one course at a time, progressing to the next course in the same way as students who meet at our on-campus classrooms.

The Online Learning System

The Online Campus utilizes the Online Learning System to make group learning independent of time and location. The Online Learning System can be accessed through an Internet Service Provider. When students log on to our Web site, they can check their e-mail and access student services.
