Confused and college bound? College Board offers new online resource
Preparing for a college education to be a daunting task for even the most organized and informed students and parents. But help and resources are available, if you can locate them. The College Board has just created a new source of information for those looking to head to college — and it's just a click away.
BigFuture is a new online resource made available by the College Board. The newly-revamped and renamed resource will help students research ways to pay for college as well as identify colleges with programs that fit their interests. The website is geared toward all students interested in attending college, even providing information for students in elementary school.
The multimillion dollar website project also features more than 100 videos, including those from administrators and admissions officers from highly-respected schools like Notre Dame and Yale University. The free resource also helps students create a step-by-step plan to help them navigate the sometimes confusing process of applying and enrolling into a college or university.
The education professionals behind the website hope to use multimedia resources and the tech savvy of today’s youth to help bridge information gaps when it comes to postsecondary education.
“All students deserve access to good guidance information and top-notch online information,” says Ben-Yoseph. “The goal to make the college process more accessible, simple, and easier to navigate.”
