Is your favorite celebrity an education high roller?

Celebrities tend to have a reputation for being self-absorbed, self-serving people with a laser-like focus on primarily their own needs and wants as opposed to others. But that is not the case for all celebrities. Many celebs, like actors Angelina Jolie, George Clooney and Betty White, have used their popularity and resources to highlight national and international problems ranging from affronts to women’s rights and environmental and animal rights issues to genocide.

When it comes to highlighting and working to improve access to, and the quality of, education, some celebrities, like media mogul Oprah Winfrey, are well-known for their efforts to help the U.S. and other nations make gains in these areas. But one might be surprised to learn that certain other celebs, like actor-musician Jack Black and hot-tempered chef Gordon Ramsey, and even sports teams have made some notable contributions and strides to help improve education and assist students and educational institutions.
