Apollo Group & University of Phoenix wins award for excellence in sustainability and communication efforts
The Environmental Excellence Awards (EEA) program is Arizona's oldest and most prestigious competition focusing exclusively on sustainability initiatives. A record number of entries were received this year - 130 submittals in 24 categories. Winners were announced on Sept. 6 at Valley Forward's Environmental Excellence Awards gala, held in partnership with SRP. Nearly 800 community leaders attended the event at the Westin Kierland Resort in Scottsdale. Kari Lake, anchor, FOX 10 News, served as mistress of ceremonies. Apollo Group / University of Phoenix received the Crescordia Award, the highest honor within the Environmental Education and Communication category, for the company's Go Green Challenge.
