  • Utah's University of Phoenix Holds Des Moines Commencement Ceremonies
    Julie Fitzpatrick knows the ups and downs—the challenges and the successes that are a part of earning a college degree as an adult learner. She knows the frustration of applying for a job, but not being considered for it, because she didn’t have a degree. And she knows the self-satisfaction and other rewards that accompany a degree from University of Phoenix. Fitzpatrick, who works for ADP, Inc. as a Human Resources Director-Business Partner, will share her story with the graduates who will participate in this year’s commencement ceremonies from University of Phoenix, Des Moines campus on Saturday, June 27, 2009.

  • University of Phoenix and Presbyterian Hospital Help Newborns in Need
    On Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at 12:30 pm University of Phoenix Albuquerque campus will deliver over 4,500 new baby items collected as a result of the University’s month-long Open Your Hearts to Newborns in Need campaign. The much needed items will directly benefit the thousands of at-risk babies born to New Mexico families each year. The items will be delivered to Presbyterian Hospital's PRESious Beginnings Program. This is the fifth year the University has sponsored the Newborns in Need campaign, bringing in over 1,500 more items than the 2008 effort.

  • University of Phoenix to Hold Resume Building Workshop
    University of Phoenix Idaho Campus continues its effort to assist displaced workers and other community members who want to sharpen their work skills. The Idaho Department of Labor reports a 22-year unemployment high, reaching 7.8 percent in May. During the next several weeks, the University will host several community workshops, including Resume Building, Time Management and Computer Skills. All workshops will be held at 3080 E Gentry Way Suite 150, Meridian, ID.

  • University of Phoenix Omaha Campus to Hold Education Seminars
    University of Phoenix Omaha Campus faculty and staff will be holding three upcoming seminars on topics very much in the news these days. The first seminar scheduled on June 13 will include a comprehensive overview of effective job search strategies and techniques. On June 27, Dr. David Probst will speak on the future of secondary education and the role of technology in schools of the future. Robert Armbrust, Director of Academic Affairs for University of Phoenix-Omaha campus will hold a seminar on July 11 to talk about employment trends of the future. All seminars will be held at University of Phoenix-Omaha campus located at 13321 California Street beginning at 10:30 a.m. The workshops are open to the public at no charge.

  • University of Phoenix El Paso Campus to Award 2009 Scott Palomino Scholarship
    The University of Phoenix El Paso campus will present the inaugural Scott Palomino Scholarship to First Sergeant Moses Jackson at 8 a.m. on Friday, June 12th, at the Warrior Transition Battalion Building (2444 Cassidy Road, Fort Bliss, TX). The Scott Palomino Scholarship is directed toward new University of Phoenix El Paso students who have served in the United States armed forces and have regrettably suffered a critical injury while serving. Named for Scott Palomino, retired veteran of the US Air Force and Purple Heart Recipient, the scholarship will cover all tuition and fees for an entire Undergraduate or Graduate program and can be applied towards classes taken at the University of Phoenix El Paso campus or online.

  • Cell Phones Collected at University of Phoenix
    Greg Robinson, Operations Supervisor, University of Phoenix, St. George Learning Center announced that the St. George Campus collected over 100 cell phones during the recent Cell Phones for Soldiers campaign. "We collected the lion's share of the total for all our Utah campuses. It is great the St. George community is so supportive of our soldiers. The old cell phones the community donated will be used and exchanged to purchase calling cards for our troops," said Robinson.

  • University of Phoenix Holds Omaha Commencement Ceremonies
    Teri Schelm of Omaha started working on herdegree from a wheelchair following a car accident. David Gross of Grand Island was a soldier in Iraq during Operation Desert Storm when he began his degree program. Chris Cxerzinski will be attending his 40th high school reunion next year having earned his college degree. Their fellow students are individuals from different parts of the region, employed and unemployed, single parents and working parents, who are all earning their degrees to build a brighter future for themselves while serving as positive role models for their children. These are the stories of the graduates who will participate in this year’s commencement ceremonies from University of Phoenix, Omaha campus on Saturday, June 20, 2009.

  • Laurel woman realizes dream of college education thanks to Paying It Forward Scholarship
    Kendra Lee of Laurel, Md., is getting her entire college education paid for, thanks to an inspirational program at University of Phoenix - Maryland. The Paying It Forward Scholarship program involves 30 influential graduates from the University's campuses across the country identifying 30 potential students for full-tuition scholarships to help them improve their lives through education. The program was established in 2006 to celebrate the more than three decades that University of Phoenix has successfully helped working students achieve their higher education goals.
