University of Phoenix Kansas City Hosts Legislative Roundtable

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (July 15, 2009) - On Friday July 17, University of Phoenix Kansas City is hosting a legislative roundtable for select Kansas City-area legislators. Also included in the roundtable will be Bill Shoehigh, registered lobbyist for University of Phoenix, Jeannine Lake, Campus Director for University of Phoenix Kansas City, and Ron Heim, Director of Academic Affairs for University of Phoenix Kansas City.

“We look forward to hosting this distinguished team of legislators,” says Jeannine Lake, Campus Director for University of Phoenix Kansas City, “and are eager to brief them on three very important public policy issues that affect our students in Missouri.”

In addition to getting to know area legislators, the goal of the roundtable is to brief legislators on three educational topics including: 1) proprietary school certification and regulation; 2) state-supported financial aid programs; and 3) assessment of student learning.

“Each of these three issues is very important to University of Phoenix and our student here in Missouri,” Lake says. “Discussion during our roundtable will help all interested parties move toward a common goal of helping Missouri students better achieve their educational goals.”
