  • University of Phoenix and CareerBuilder Hosting Career Makeover Fair in Chicago on Tuesday, December 8
    The largest private university in North America and the U.S.'s largest online job site are teaming up to help Chicago job seekers with a career fair that goes above and beyond just offering job opportunities, by focusing on identity, career and education through an interactive career fair and workshop. Attendees will have access to professional resume writers, image consultants and networking experts to help them retool their job-hunting approach and make themselves more marketable to employers.

  • University Of Phoenix Utah To Provide Public Donation Locations for The Road Home
    A toothbrush for Christmas. Such a humble item brings dignity and comfort to someone without one. Through December 18, the public is invited to contribute oft forgotten gifts. They will be distributed by The Road Home, a local non-profit agency that helps the homeless. Four of Utah's University of Phoenix locations, right off freeway exits, will be collection points.

  • Everybody Wins! USA Awarded Expansion Grant from University of Phoenix
    Everybody Wins! USA, a nationally recognized literacy and mentoring organization, has been awarded a three-year, $250,000 grant from the University of Phoenix. The grant will expand educational opportunities for low-income youth and create more literacy-related volunteer opportunities for University of Phoenix campuses by replicating the successful Everybody Wins! Power Lunch program to three cities where University of Phoenix has campuses, including Phoenix, Arizona.

  • University of Phoenix Brings "Holiday Cheer" to Disadvantaged Youth
    Nearly 200 holiday gifts are donated to the residents of the Albuquerque Juvenile Detention Center Education Unit.

    On Tuesday, December 15, 2009, members of University of Phoenix Albuquerque campus administrative staff delivered nearly 200 new and "gently used" stuffed animals to the students and residents of Albuquerque's Juvenile Detention Center Education Unit (JDC-EU) for the sixth consecutive year. Over 80 students received a holiday gift, which they could keep for themselves or in turn give to their own children or to family members who will be missing them this holiday season. This annual drive is just one aspect of the University's Join-A-School & Business Program, which primarily encourages the University faculty and staff to attend and serve as guest speakers for local school events held at partnering facilities.

  • Public and Private Partners Join PBS’s This Emotional Life Effort to Bring Help, Hope to Millions of Americans, December 30
    On the eve of a new year, as millions of Americans struggle to find more meaning in their lives, Vulcan Productions and NOVA/WGBH have brought together a number of national, public and private organizations around a nationwide, multi-faceted project sparked by the upcoming PBS series, This Emotional Life, premiering January 4-6, 2010 (9 p.m.). The two-year campaign aims to bring help and hope to millions trying to improve their lives.
