University received Learning! 100 Corporate Enterprise and Public Sector Award at Enterprise Learning! Conference

PHOENIX, July 29, 2016 — Elearning! Media Group last month released its seventh annual Learning! 100 Award winners, naming University of Phoenix one of the top 100 learning organizations from the public and private sectors for 2016 – specifically, in the top ten in the public sector and education category. University of Phoenix was recognized as a leader in innovation in acknowledgement of the forward thinking design of education delivery in the forthcoming RedFlint™ experience center which will open in October 2016 in downtown Las Vegas.

The University joined other award winners at the Enterprise Learning! Conference (ELC) in June at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif. Dennis Bonilla, executive dean, University of Phoenix College of Information Systems and Technology, and Ruth Veloria, executive dean, University of Phoenix School of Business, attended the conference to accept the award on behalf of the University.

“We live in an era of rapid technological advancement and University of Phoenix understands that people and businesses must continuously innovate in order to succeed and remain relevant. The University receiving the Elearning! 100 Award for innovation and being recognized as one of the top 100 learning organizations of 2016 validates our commitment to success in innovation and reinforces our mission to prepare tech-savvy, industrious and innovative professionals,” Bonilla said. “To be at the forefront of innovation and be recognized as a leader, that is our mission. We will never stop striving to be on the cutting-edge in the education sector.”

University of Phoenix recently announced the upcoming launch of the RedFlint™ experience center that will provide individuals, startups and established businesses with access to the latest technology and business ideas, as well as with an experiential, hands-on learning environment to aid innovation. At the RedFlint center, the University will study innovation, identify education gaps and test and incubate ideas under the three main concepts: educate, incubate and accelerate. The University is also a sponsor of the Las Vegas Hospitality and Gaming Accelerator program offered by Iron Yard Ventures, which will have space at the center. Iron Yard Ventures has spurred investment in 59 startups in the last four years and those companies have gone on to create hundreds of jobs and raise more than $70 million in follow-on funding.

“Innovation is ingrained in the DNA of University of Phoenix, and the launching of the RedFlint™ experience center reflects this commitment,” Veloria said. “To be recognized as one of the top 100 leaders in innovation is a powerful statement that University of Phoenix created a concept that is relevant and has the ability to make a significant impact on the people and businesses of Las Vegas.”
