Dawn Iwamoto

Dawn Iwamoto, EdD

Dawn Iwamoto holds a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. She’s been teaching in the School of Advanced Studies since 2001 both online and at the Phoenix Hohokam Campus. 

Dawn has over 20 years of teaching and administrative experience in a variety of educational settings. She is currently the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs at University of Phoenix. In this role, Dawn is responsible for the oversight of several of the colleges and the supervision of academic programs, and also leads initiatives related to regulatory affairs. As Dean in the School of Advanced Studies for seven years, Dawn was responsible for the administration of all doctoral degree programs for the University.

She is a consulting editor for the International Journal of Special Education, a consultant evaluator for the Higher Learning Commission, and a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) and Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). 

Her areas of expertise include leadership, motivation, multicultural education, instructional strategies and program and curriculum development.
