James Hazel, JD
Jim Hazel is currently the Presiding Judge for the Apache Junction Municipal Court in Arizona and has worked in criminal justice for more than 25 years. Jim has taught online criminal justice courses for University of Phoenix since 1996 and holds both a Juris Doctor from the University of Toledo and a Master of Public Administration from Valdosta State.
Prior to his appointment with the City of Apache Junction, Jim served as Judge for the City of Mesa. He’s also been Judge of the Arizona Superior Court in Gila County, a pro-tem judge in the Phoenix Municipal Court and the Gila County Attorney. Jim has also taught traffic law for the Judicial College of Arizona for more than five years.
Jim is active in his church and the Boy Scouts of America.
