Karen Yancey, MGA

Karen Yancey serves as the Area Chair for Economics in the University of Phoenix School of Business at the Philadelphia Campus, where she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in economics, general studies, marketing and global management. Karen holds a Master of Government Administration from the University of Pennsylvania and Master of Arts in Economics from Temple University.

Currently, Karen also works as a real estate agent. Prior to that, she spent 15 years in the investment industry with Dean Witter and Morgan Stanley and later served as Deputy Treasurer for the City of Philadelphia.

Karen has been a guest speaker at summits in Senegal and Ghana, addressing issues around economic stability. She’s also hosted seminars for Philadelphia’s International Visitors Center and has led workshops on fiscal affairs for women transitioning from welfare to work.

Karen has taught for University of Phoenix since 2001 and was the recipient of the 2003 Distinguished Faculty Award. She served as a faculty mentor for six years.
