Michael Vandermark, PhD

Mike Vandermark is a licensed industrial/organizational psychologist, author, speaker, and corporate facilitator and leadership consultant living in Scottsdale, Ariz. Mike teaches a variety of University of Phoenix courses for the Doctor of Management program in Organizational Leadership, the Doctor of Philosophy in Industrial/Organizational Psychology as well as the MBA program.

Mike has 28 years of experience in organizational development and is the president and CEO of his own organizational development consulting firm. His specialties include leadership trends in the future, dialogue (truth-telling) in organizations, spirituality in the workplace, the fourth generation of Six Sigma and use of music and parody as a tool for developing people and organizations.

Prior to starting his own company, Mike served as Vice President and Staff Psychologist for Drake Beam Morin Inc., a worldwide outplacement and human services consulting firm. He also served as a Corporate Consulting Psychologist for America West Airlines and as an Organization Development practitioner for St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center.

He has authored several books including "Spirituality in the Workplace," which he co-authored with Deepak Chopra, MD, and "Wall Street & Wildflowers: Choices About Life in Corporate America," which uses poetry as a tool to increase openness and trust in communication. He also wrote "Era III Leadership: What Mind/Body Medicine is Telling Us About How to Lead Our Organizations," a look into tomorrow's organizations based on principles drawn from mind/body medicine, quantum physics, spirituality and Eastern philosophy.

A former U.S. Air Force and airline pilot, Mike received his master's degree in human development and his doctorate in human and organizational systems from the Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, Calif.
