Millicent Thomas, PhD

Millicent Thomas teaches courses in sociology, communication and research at the University of Phoenix Houston Campus. She spent nearly two decades in the non-profit sector including serving as a former executive director for an agency that addressed employment in the skills trade industry. She has been actively involved in education on several levels from substitute teacher to university professor.

She earned an M.A. in Student Personnel Administration and a Ph.D. in Social Foundations. Her professional experiences encompass nearly two decades within the non-profit sector with management roles in program operations, economic development and employment and training. Her current research focuses on the quality of education for the single parent adult learner.
