Richard Schuttler, PhD

Rich Schuttler is an educator, author, international public speaker, executive coach and management consultant. He has over 20 years of experience developing strategies to improve management and leadership within academia, governments and Fortune 1,000 companies. Rich retired from the U.S. Navy after 23 years working in the field of cryptology.

Rich holds a Ph.D. in Applied Management and Decision Sciences from Walden University. He’s taught business and doctoral courses online and on-campus at University of Phoenix since 1994. He served as Dean in the School of Advanced Studies for five years, overseeing tremendous growth in the Doctor of Management in Organizational Leadership and Doctor of Business Administration programs. He’s also been a visiting professor at universities in London, Hong Kong, Singapore, France, Germany, Australia and Switzerland.

As the owner of the consulting firm Organizational Troubleshooter LLC, Rich mentors executives, faculty, and students from around the world in a variety of professional leadership and management settings. He has an extensive and proven assessment background applying the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Awards criteria to organizations. He’s a Senior Member with the American Society for Quality and has served as a judge with the International Team Excellence Award program criteria.

Rich authored the book Laws of Communication: The Intersection Where Leadership Meets Employee Performance, and also co-authored Million Dollar Attitude and Lifetime Medical Organizer. A portion of the proceeds from Laws of Communication goes to the non-profit organization The Smile Train.
