Ruth Grendell, DNSc

Ruth Grendell has over 35 years of experience as a nurse educator, volunteer and global healer. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Science and has been teaching various nursing courses at University of Phoenix for nearly 10 years. She is also a consultant on nursing curriculum development.

She has held staff and management positions in medical/surgical acute care settings and faculty and administrative positions in academic settings. She also teaches nursing courses at the University of San Diego where she received her master's and doctoral nursing degrees.

Ruth has led 25 international medical mission trips to locations including Russia, Romania, Albania and India and has helped prepare nursing education materials for programs in these locations.

She is a member of the Association of California Nurse Leaders and received the Nurse Leader of the Year Award in 2002. She is also a recipient of the Author Hughes Career Achievement Award from the University of San Diego and has also authored several nursing texts. Ruth is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International.
