Tony Kortens, PhD

Tony Kortens has successfully designed and facilitated a broad range of leadership, team and organizational change initiatives across multiple continents as a practitioner-scholar for over 20 years. Tony holds a Ph.D. in Organization Systems and uses his expertise to teach doctoral students and supervise doctoral leadership projects in the School of Advanced Studies.

Early in his consulting career, Tony achieved a 100% success rate with proposals to design and lead team leadership programs for the financial and insurance industries. Subsequent professional consultant training in Organization Development led to a broad range of consulting experiences with top teams, CEO annual conferences and complex system change efforts. More recent client engagements have focused on helping executives deal with the emerging challenges of leading the knowledge intensive organization.

Tony is an associate member of the highly regarded Taos Institute—an international body of theorists, scholars and practitioners focused on social constructionism—and a professional member of the internationally-recognized National Training Laboratories Institute of Applied Behavioral Sciences. He is also a member of the Editorial Review Board for the School of Advanced Studies’ Journal of Leadership Studies.

In his spare time, Tony raises puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind in Northern California.
